Hukuki Mücadele Derneği olarak 8 Mart Dünya Kadınlar gününü İnsan Hakları Evrensel Bildirisinde öngörülen, “bütün insanlar hür, haysiyet ve haklar bakımından eşit doğarlar” ilkesi çerçevesinde kutluyoruz
Tarihsel süreçte; kadın hakları için verilen mücadele, insan hakları mücadelesiyle bir bütün olarak gelişmiştir ve insan haklarından ancak çağdaş demokrasilerde söz edilebilir. Dünya üzerinde hiçbir toplum, kadınlarını geriye iterek ülkesini ileriye taşıyamamıştır.
Değişen dünyada kadınların anne olmalarının dışında; üretime ve yönetime katılma imkanına kavuştukları her ülkede toplumsal gelişme çabalarında etkin rol aldıklarını biliyoruz.
Kurtuluş mücadelemizde dahi Anadolu kadını yeri gelmiş cephede koşup savaşmış, yeri gelmiş kağnı arabalarıyla silah taşımış, yaralı askerleri sarıp sarmalamıştır. Çağdaş Türk kadının doğacağı o zamanlarda Mustafa Kemal Anadolu kadınının cesaret ve fedakarlığını görmüş, onların sosyal hayatta erkekle yan yana yürümesini istemiştir. Çağdaş medeniyetler seviyesine ulaşmak temel hedef seçilen bu zorlu süreçte; Atatürk’e güç veren eşi Latife hanım, kızları Sabiha Gökçen, Afet İnan ve onlarla aynı yolda yürüyen Halide Edip bizlerin ışıklı yol haritasıdır.
Önderimiz yüce Atatürk’ün ‘’Ey Türk kadını.. Sen yerde sürünmeye değil, omuzlarda yükselmeye layıksın’’ sözü keşke 21. yüzyılın ilk çeyreğini geride bıraktığımız şu günlerde herkes tarafından bir kez daha hatırlanıp hissedilebilseni diliyoruz. Bugün yeryüzünde her üç kadından biri şiddetin değişik biçimlerine; ekonomik, sosyal, psikolojik, fiziksel şiddet ve tacizlere mahkum kalmaya devam etmektedir. Türkiye, kadın erkek eşitliğinde; ekonomik güç, eğitim seviyesi, siyasete katılım, sağlık ve yaşam süresi benzeri ölçülere göre 134 ülke arasında ancak 129’uncu sırada yer alabilmektedir
Verilen onca mücadeleye, ulusal ve uluslararası alandaki onlarca hukuki düzenlemeye ve alınan onca yola rağmen; insan hakları ihlallerinin, cinsiyet ayrımcılığının ve şiddetin egemen olduğu bir dünyada ve toplumda yaşıyoruz.
Kadın ve erkek arasındaki eşit olmayan güç ilişkisinin en olumsuz sonucu olarak ortaya çıkan kadına yönelik şiddet, bütün dünyada varlığını sürdürmeye devam ediyor. Bugün dünya üzerinde hâlâ kırbaçlama ve recm gibi uygulamalar sürerken, kimi ülkelerde, tecavüze uğrayan kadın zinayla suçlanıyor. Küçük yaşlarda rızaları olmadan evlendiriliyor. Erkeklerin rızası olmadan seyahat edemiyor.
Karşı karşıya bulduğumuz sorun, zihinlerdeki devrimin gerçekleşmemiş olmasından kaynaklanmaktadır.
8 Mart’ta herkesi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün sözlerini yeniden düşünmeye davet ediyoruz:
“Bizim sosyal toplumumuzun başarısızlığının sebebi, kadınlarımıza karşı gösterdiğimiz ilgisizlikten ileri gelmektedir. Yaşamak demek faaliyet demektir. Bundan dolayı, bir sosyal toplumun bir organı faaliyette bulunurken diğer bir organı işlemezse o sosyal toplum felçlidir.”
